Storytelling

“In the beginning was the Word”…

Storytelling is found all over the world. The oral tradition stands at the heart of all cultures, expressing, exploring, and enriching the people and land. Through the power and simplicity of human voice and the “presence” of the teller in gesture, facial expression and centre of gravity a story lives. It is created between the listener and the teller.

The Program
The program will provide training in the basic skills of storytelling within the oral tradition. Through world stories from folk to myth we will explore story structure, characterization, rhythm and musicality, imagery, speech and audience awareness. We will work in a supportive group to bring stories to life in performance.
